I'm looking for a resource for filet crochet using #3 thread. I would like to do last names. Also, has anyone seen a pattern for a baby afghan that says "Jesus Loves Me". Would like it for my grandbaby's baptism. Probably filet crochet also. Thanks to anyone who can help me!

That is a neat site. Now if I could only get the nerve to try filet!

Go ahead, try it. It's really quite simple, easier than a lot of other patterns. Especially if you can follow a chart, it's only chains, single and double crochets. Thread crochet usually takes longer than yarn (at least for me) but is definitely more portable than most projects with regular yarn. I have lots of fillet patterns, but can't think of one that is like monograms. Will check, and if I have one I would be more than happy to share.

I love to filet crochet. I make my own patterns there are sites that give you graphs of alphabets and I use them to graph words or names. The most ambitious filet crochet I have done is a family tree with all our names on it.

There is a website called momsloveofcrochet.com that has diagrams for filet monograms for anyone that is interested. Lots of other patterns as well. Carolyn
